HotRodBuilds.net: Belly Tank Lakester by rodbuilder

This belly tank lakester, built by rodbuilder on RodsNSods.co.uk, started with a Hawker Hunter belly tank from an aviation scrap yard. The belly tank proved too small, so it was used as a template for a larger fiberglass body that would better accomodate the driver and the engine.

The donor vehicle was an Audi Estate with a 2.6 A6 engine, and the suspension was a homebuilt Locost type. What was difficult about this project was fitment. Everything was shortened, tweaked, and adjusted to fit into this tiny platform, including an oil filter that had to be installed via a hole in the side of the body.
