As one ages it is a good idea to exercise the noggin as much as possible.

I have the fastest method of all for anything under 36" across to locate the true center. It is called a center finding ruler. Mine is a stainless steel yard stick with a cork back to prevent marring of a polished surface. on the ruler one edge starts with zero to 36" the other edge starts with 18 to zero to 18 they can be bought in plastic from 6 inches long and in stainless up to 72" long.
There have been times when I have used the described methods in the video, a lot depends on the size and whether or not the piece has true square corners

Howcum your tape measure shows 8" being exactly 20 cm? That's not correct. 8" is slightly more than 20 cm, aproximately 20.3 cm.

My wife would regularly confuse people with her decimal tape measure that she had for her iron work.
