Great Video! Everyone should have to watch it.

I wonder if anyone that lives off-grid ever tried to hijack it.

Kind of like stealing empty propane tanks or empty gas cans but mabey it could be used to get electricity from a generator to the house if the trailer is long enough.

One thing he left out is. One time while at a RV park the electricity went off so someone's RV mounted generator fired up automatically as mine could do when what is called shore power goes down. RV's and boats that have on board generators have a ship to shore switch. These are designed so that only 1 source of power is available to the RV or boat at a time even is the generator is running and the RV is connected to the utility power the switch is either on 1 or the other. but this guy had his RV rigged up similar to how I had mine so that he could run everything off of solar and the generator would only start up if his batteries got low. When you have this type of rig you can't use the utility unless you have another switch set up or you can only use the utility and the solar or the utility and the generator. I didn't have utility power available so my solar was on the shore side of the switch. I don't know how his was rigged but when the power went out and his generator started it back fed to everyone who happened to be connected to the park's poles. which tripped the breakers in his generator from overloading. this was a good thing as like the guy showed in the demonstration had the breaker not tripped who knows where the energy would have been going. since power will step up through a transformer just like it normally steps down.
The demonstration also didn't touch on people's homes with grid tied solar. the reason why if you have grid tied solar when the power goes out from the utility you loose power in your home as well even though you have solar and the inverters. It takes a special switchgear to have power in the home when the power goes off if you want to have a battery bank to store your solar energy. Another reason why many power companies won't allow grid tie with battery bank storage.
Home standby generators that are connected to start up automatically have to have the ship to shore type switch gear as well.

Oompa Loompa Land Supply Authority. I've seen it before, Willie Wonka crashed his car and it was quicker ans easier to replace the whole section with a new piece, rather than dig out the old poles and put new transformers up.

Looks like we have an apprentice doing his first electricity delivery here. Practice makes perfect.
