A bit more sophicated than the ones we made as kids. We would hammer the edge while rotating between finger & thumb & continue until we had the correct (approx) ID. Put it in the vice & drill out centre. for smaller we would carefully tap some more & for a bit larger we'd use a round bastard file a fine as we had. No chain saw files in those days. then polish with "Silvo".

ALL OVER in 1966 when decimal currency was introduced except for Round 50 cent coins made mostly of silver until the cost outweiged the value of the coin. These were a little too large for our system & beside 50 cent was earned after selling 100 newspapers or doing an hours work at the servo or a couple of hours push mowing.
