My largest Mitutoyo's only go to 30", so I'm feeling rather inadequate now.

We had identical 72" Kanon in a shop; to match paper handling rollers OAL. Greatly simplifies setting bearings in solid end-frames. Temperature control was not considered, it was stored boxed in same room as machinery, normalization attained continually. Exact length was less important than equal length.
