Impact driver driving screws through metal.

It's called a drill point. What poppycock. You could do this with a screwdriver if you were patient.

I dunno. I think this video is more showing how impressive impacts are at driving screws. Impacts are very impressive with respect to driving fasteners with PITA heads like Philips. The intermittent pulses of torque allow the driver to reseat preventing cam out. Those Philips heads would have cammed out and rounded off within a few turns if I were using a hand screwdriver. I would have a pair of vise grips on that screw after about a minute.

That drill point is doing its job. These screws are very hard and have multiple layers of coating with the outer one being super hard as well. No impact is needed.

Kind of. You can strip out a Philips with an impact driver, and even a Robertson if you are not used to using these tools. Trained many helper over the past 30 plus years. The hammering does help. I got my first impact gun over 20 years ago. And they are also faster than drills.
