My father-in-law works for a gas company and part of his service training was an instruction to head toward the center of the blast if possible. If you notice the chair just got lifted up and flipped. While there is a ball of flame there and it definitely got burned, it didn't get blasted through the door or wall because it was at the center of the blast. You might still have a chance to survive the burns but likely not a trip through a solid barrier of 100' through the air. A house down the street about 6 blocks away had a gas leak and blew up and scattered debris a block away, blew the walls out on 4 houses around it, and shattered windows almost to my house. The people that owned the house were on vacation at the time and neighbors from most of the nearby houses were at work. There were no fatalities and only minor injuries. The leak was at the stove in the kitchen and it was almost completely intact! Everything else practically disintegrated.
