If there was ever a need for that German track ripper that was it...
As AI created images gets better, I have wondered if Hollywood studios would kick the highly paid actors to the curb. Why pay them when you can invent your own. Of course, they are currently all on the same team but that could change as money is the name of their game.
Stupid is forever, ignorance can be fixed.
For now, the AI video creation services are gatekept. You can upload a short video of a person and they will create an AI video avatar from it after vetting it. Or, you can choose from their pre-existing AI characters to create a video. They are concerned about running afoul of legal issues arising from creating videos with the likenesses of people who may sue them. Celebrities have an outsize influence on politics and culture, and they generally are misinformed or ignorant about the topics on which they so confidently preach. We have really seen this dynamic in action in the internet era. Previously, their agencies would handle their appearances tightly, but now they can't resist exposing their idiocy on Twitter or Instagram.

Yes, agreed, that would be a great cultural step forward. The movie production costs could plummet drastically, and not just for hiring actors. Making a full-length movie could be as accessible as writing a book. This might also solve the current problem in which we have a large number of new movies, but they are thematically similar or otherwise unremarkable. Video below is an example of AI generation. It's only a short snippet, but the faces look real.
