A much faster way would be with a 12v battery a pair of jumper cables and a length of Nichrome wire, a couple of insulating handles and a heavy duty switch.

What a waste of foam. What are the cost savings of wasting half the foam?

There is a very fine line between too much and not enough foam to fill the cavities. It is very hard sometimes to judge just how much foam you are spraying. Temperature and humidity have a lot to do with how much it expands, even though the foam is usually a 2 and sometimes 3 part mix whether it is closed cell or open cell and if it has flame retardant or not. Most might think it would be better to have the drywall in place and inject from top. but that almost always ends in having to rip the drywall off and replace it because when the fopam expands it can create a lot of pressure.
