Intro

Hi, I came across this site while searching for DIY projects.

I just retired after 32 years as a computer systems analyst/programmer - prior to that, I worked as a welder for 10 years. I was certified by the American Welding Society for structural steel, and worked in job shops, on various construction jobs, and for Sun Shipyard in Chester, PA. during the frigid winter of 1976, to earn enough money to move back west where the humidity was bearable.

Even though the majority of my career was spent working with computers (I had gotten tired of welding out in the cold weather of Colorado), I still consider myself to be a welder/mechanic at heart. I've always done my own auto repair, home improvement projects, and welding projects for myself and others, etc., and get great satisfaction out of building things with my hands (and head) to solve whatever problem, and I enjoy working with others that feel the same.

Now that I'm retired, I have a lot of time to devote to the projects I've put off for years, and am looking forward to getting some new ideas from this site. Thanks!
