    Janney semi-automatic railway coupler - GIF and patent

    Railway coupler; I believe this is a semi-automatic Janney coupler.




    Janney had patents for multiple couplings; here's one from 1881: https://www.google.com/patents/US251594.

    That shunting was a WEE bit fast: lucky he had some experience but almost tripped completely. Why not pop in after the shunting? want to hook up more quickly ?.
