Japanese iced coffee - GIF

OK I know everyone likes their coffee served differently. If they didn't. Starbucks would have gone out of business the day they opened their first store. But serving cold coffee in a 5 lb block of ICE? What's up with that? For me coffee needs to be hot black and reasonably strong but not burnt, and freshly brewed or at least less than 3 hours old.
