Jet converted into street-legal limousine - video
-
great for jet setting from one terminal to another
-
Amazing it only weighs about the same as a ute= 2 & a bit ton! The door was a bit cramped for the lady so the passenger must have cramped his neck. James Bond or ODD JOB?

ranald you might want to have a second look at the weight 12,567 lbs is more like 6 and a 1/4 tons

Thanks Frank. 50 odd years since doing imperial full time . 2240 lbs in our ton & what i was thinking was 5280 ft (imagine 5280 lb in a ton) in our old mile.!
LOL big muck up! next time i'll have to put brain into gear & every bugger asks ME what is this in metric & what is that length, area, volume, weight or size? Ha ha ha.LOL again. They did find a brain when doing a scan a while back: hope it is still there! Maybe gone with that guy's with the john deere wacking himself around the head. Should I try that? LOL

Seems like a waste of a Lear to me...and sure as hell don't need 17,000 watts of sound even in 42 ft. If they did that much work and Duckets why not restore the Lear...they are getting scarce now days. Sssheeeze Mugillicuty!

Yeah, I can no longer do 2 things at once. I had been up all night ticked off about a mistake in my pension so put it to good use posting a few of my home made stuff & learning how better to insert pics. After a couple of hours stressed sleep the puppy woke me to go outside. Couldn't sleep again so did house work (wife up at 5am & gone by6) then rang pension mob and was on over 2 hrs so started to read the forums & comment. NO EXCUSE but I need better focus like I had a few of years back. At least it gave a few good laughs esp to me . I always like to check out Franks posts and that is a doozzy.
Cheers

I don’t think I’d like to be behind it on my bike in a queue at the traffic lights! Or even a sound-proofed truck. Impressive a build as this is, are you sure that it is street legal?

Ranald, I have made the same error in replying to one of Frank’s posts.

The pods don't have the jet engines in them they are only still up there for show the vehicle is powered by a Vortec V8 engine

I think Philip may have been referring to the the db level of the 17KW sound system which the pods house some of the speakers I believe. Could be Wrong, have been known to be, and will be again...assuredly.
-
I forgot about the sound system I don't have a tendency to even think about them since I don't even use the radio in my vehicles.
yeah with a 17,000 watt sound system the occupants would go deaf in just a few minutes if much of it were directed inside of the vehicle. I've had my ears bleed more than once from unexpected ultra high Db noise so I avoid those things like the plague

Can it do more then 2 mph? Got a wonder

The 0 to 60 time would probably be about like a fully loaded pickup truck but I imagine it could eventually reach 100 MPH Ny worries would be the high CG would make it hard to control at speed or in turns but limos rarely go zipping along at high speeds like in the movies

my concern would be at the other end. what's it's 60 to 0 time? 6.25 tons takes some stopping, judging from the size of the front wheels, the brakes would have to be something spectacular.........then there's tires................?

I wouldn't think it would take any further than it takes my pickup to stop with 400 gallons of water in the back plus what ever is in the tool box My tires are 245/75-16 12 ply in front and 10R 17.5 16 ply in the rear gives me a total safe 6400lbs for teh steer and a total safe 11,900 tire cap in the rear
I can't stop as quick as a VW passat but Now that I have removed the RABS from the rear I can stop faster than a Ford crown vic police cruiser.
So tires and brakes for the limo wouldn't be a thing it doesn't weigh near as much as the Cadillac Beast the US President rides in reported to be somewhere between 15,000 & 20,000 lbs
