Hi to you all,
I'm a kinetic sculptor who spends most of my time in the shop. Been making things and collecting tools for about 50 years. I have needed to make many of my own over the years, so it's a pleasure to find like minded individuals.

Hi Jeff - welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
Fascinating work! I think you're our first kinetic sculptor. Feel free to link up your website in your forum signature :) Transcending Tides and Three Moons were two of my favorites.
So, what's next up on your projects list?

Thanks Jon
I appreciate your taking the time to look at my website. Three Moons is one of my favorites, four moons is in the works, I'm always anxious to see if these things work when they are completed.

Hi Jeff,
Welcome - glad to have you here! :welcome:
Really neat sculptures! I loved Astrolabe and Large Orbits; it'd be great to see all of your work in motion. Have you considered expanding your video page to include all of your pieces?
What are you working on currently?

Thanks for saying nice things about my sculptures, always good to hear.
Currently I have a sculpture heading out to Michigan Stat U. that needs tamperproof nuts to hold it down, I purchased some very beautiful ones but the top looks unfinished so I'm in the process of casting some caps, can't decide if aluminum or bronze would be more suitable so I'm making both.
Then a shipping crate needs to be built, a couple day project and off it goes.
I would love to have all my pieces on video but the cost is outrageous, between filming setting up and editing their around $1,000 each, I do have a drone I have begun to use, now I need to learn the editing process.
In the meantime there are more sculptures to build, things have to keep moving.
I'm trying to learn how to post a tool, I made a drill press support a while back that I have not seen anywhere else, simple and effective, thought I would like to share it, it's not like some of the beautiful tools I've seen on this site but maybe someone will like it.
Thanks for the interest

We'd definitely be interested in seeing your drill press support. Just start a thread in the Homemade Tools subforum and we'll get it added to the site.
I'm sure you know this, but HD video can be shot and edited (essentially for free) on nearly any smartphone. The drone is a neat idea and will serve to show the sculptures from interesting and unusual angles. I'll look forward to seeing some of that new photography!
