Hmmmm, that can be handy for other uses. One could make different holders from wood or metal. I could use one rather than my small vise.

I gathered materials to make a "barrel vise" in the style of the attached pic. Haven't got it done yet, but it occurs to me that such a vise could be applied to knives in much the same way by providing appropriate wood/aluminum(?) slugs/collets along with "tool-less" clamping hardware.
