lapidary
Hello Rock-hounds
I'm making my own lapidary shop. First question, How much space is needed for grinder/polisher wheels? Check out the 'Blender' flat lap, stupid easy: an old blender base, build a case, wooden or metal, set a flat lap base and go. It already has speed controls built in.

Hi Bill and welcome to the forums. This is an OK concept in some ways but the wrong motor type for the job , I'll get some photos together and get them on here to show some existing equipment variables that I have and use. Some questions first. Are you looking to make a cabbing machine that accepts round grinding wheels or are you looking to make a flat lap or flat disc machine along the lines of a facet machine. Do you have any of the other parts for the machine you envision? Do you have any lapidary experience?
