Hopefuily they are saving up for a set of collets instead of relying on that stack of 3-jaw chucks.

You wouldn't want collets on a welding positioner. Mine has an older 8" 4 jaw chuck on it, but when using it in the vertical position I lay a cover disk over it this reduces the sparks and slag getting on it
