I am not a fan, in general, of labour saving tools that require a drill. By the time that you find a drill, chuck up the tool and use it, it seems quicker to just do it manually. However, moving the jaws in a big chuck a large distance can be tedious and slow with a standard Tee handle but there is a simple manual tool that is very quick.

Unfortunately, not all chuck makers obligh by using 1/2", 3/8" or 1/4" squares but is is easy enough to grind/mill or weld/grind/mill to get a good fit. I have 4 different chucks but they are covered by only two different cranks, which are dedicated to the lathe and so are always to hand. No searching for a tool that is used for other tasks.
