Lathe Measure Once Cut 10 Times or More
Probably not a new idea but I have not seen a setup where two carriage stops are used.
With this setup you only have to measure the setup once and then just repeat the steps for
extending, facing, drilling, and cutoff. The cutoff tool is used as the starting point of the part.
Here is what was cut:

Left carriage stop is for the final cutoff operation:

Right carriage stop is used for the stop when extending the stock from the chuck
The stock is extended until it reaches the left side of the cutoff tool:

Left carriage stop is used for final cutoff. Note the thickness of the cutoff tool was considered
when setting the stops. The right hand stop is not using the micrometer adjustment. It is simply
hitting the extended carriage gibs that I installed on my mini lathe.
