Nice idea, easy to use. Thanks.
matrixriser, thanks for the comment!
Interesting, this should help to direct the shavings on my wood lathe, I'll give it a try. Thank you for the onfo.

Certainly many of you had the same idea as me, but it costs nothing to comment. Making the necessary adjustments for fixing, this protection can also be equally useful to be used in the grinder or in the milling machine!

Nice idea, I'll give it a try.
Claudio HG, thanks for the comment!
Nice but, I'd really like to see it working. Obviously it would slide up and down but let's see what it can do.

Ralphxyz, position the acrylic guard with the rail fully open. Change the position as needed. After use, just close, there's no secret, that's all!
Though I dont have a way of mounting it as shown, I think it could easily be altered. Thanks for the great idea !
Great idea, a drawer slide!
Fixes all shortcomings [too many] of run-of-the-mill versions.
NEVER seen or used before, any chip guard I thought worthwhile.
Thanks for the comments of Ralphxyz, mbshop and Toolmaker51!
That is a novel idea to use a drawer slide to hold a clear guard shield. Being adjustable makes it always available and easy to slide out of the way.
Thanks for posting this! I think this is a great idea.
Yes but does it work? I'd like to see a video of it actually doing something.
Ralph
The working position of the rail is "fully open", it just works like this! The mechanism is so simple that it is ridiculous! Do not remove the locking rubber from the rail, this is how it stays closed and locked!
