    Whether for production work or just making 3 or 4 of the same part for a small project a quality turret tail stock is worth as much as a QC tool post. If you ever set one up and use it you will wonder why all lathes don't have that feature. What I miss about the Warner & Swasey #5 I used to own is the tail turret which could be driven by the lead screw like the carriage.

    We would chain the carriage to the tail stock and use that to pull it along. Probably not the best way but when you have a big drill this works pretty good.
