interesting, but i have never needed to clean with a garden hose or such,i use a old rag.u did go over 10 minutes so here's another SAM KINISON award,,OOOOOOH,OOH,OOH,OOOOOOOH !!!!

There is always oil and sand build up on the cooling fins. I use degreaser and a pressure washer every time I clean the filter.
