    leadscrew protector 2

Hey guys, this is my second leadscrew protection system. The cling wrap eventually wrapped itself around the screw... Grr
I found a telescopic rod on eBay that I hoped would work. It apparently is a dubious self defence device. Enjoy

    Regards stevoh

When I see these type of leadscrew covers, I keep thinking about the coiled spring and tape inside a retractable tape measure.

I bought a few of these off of McMaster Carr to protect linear actuators. Crazy expensive. Yours is probably 90% as good for 10% the cost.

    Ranga OK???

Dude!!! Freaking Excellent!!!!! Literally trash into treasure!! I am assuming you turned those end pieces? Would those plastic bits like in your earlier cover work here?? Did you attach the end pieces solidly, as in Epoxy, Set Screw? What is the diameter of the staff thing? Do you figure it would work on larger leadscrews? Did you disassemble the leadscrew to add the cover or kinda wrap it?
I would love to see more of an assembly vid if you would have a mind to?
Sorry for all the questions but this has been the only thing that has caught my imagination today!! That or COVID boredom has finally got me.. Nahhhh.. Good on you!!!

Desbro-- Get after it!! [Smile] Lets see what you've got on your mind.

Thanks you Canyonman44 & Olderdan. I also found them on eBay Australia, searching for "Portable Martial Arts Pocket".
Delivery is slow but ... for $7.98AUD who can complain.
