I worked with a mission in the Dominican Republic for a while. Sleeping in hammocks out in the country side near a dairy operation. Many mornings we were awakened before dawn by what we discovered was a machine just like that. Grinding the very course grass that grew along the river bank for feed. It was too mucky for the cattle to be permitted there as they would get stuck. So men harvested with machetes, then hauled it to the feed lot to grind for the cattle.
