LED Conversion
Tried very hard to stay out of the shops on Black Friday.:headshake:
But when a mail popped up from my favorite electrical shop for T8 LED tubes 2 for half price,
I could not resist, but I went there and only bought the 2 tubes. I have 4 double fittings in my workshop so thought I would start to convert the 2 I use most. It was not just converting to LED which meant stripping the guts and connecting the 220v directly to one side of the tube, but as LED is more efficient I also wanted to convert from double tubes to single tubes. A nice saving as the old setup had 4 tubes at 58W each so 232W. The new set up is 2 x 22W so 44W so about a 500% improvement.

the old double tube set up. Cut that little tab off to make space for the single tube modifiction.
Attachment 26524
Small ali plate with slot to accept tube connector and riveted onto original housing.

And it works. Nice the fact that it comes on immediately when you hit the switch.
Change guys lets live as GREEN as possible. Even in out workshops.:rocker:
