Interesting; are you looking to grind lenses for eyeglasses?

My uncle made his own telescope long ago, back in the early 60's. Ground the lenses by hand. I always thought it would be cool to do that, but never did.

Hi try the patent office in the search line box type in ccl/451/256 or ccl/451/277 or ccl/451/323 change the date range to 1790 you should be able to get some ideas there

Thanks for the links. The stories and pictures are helpful. I was thinking of using it for roughing out and finishing by hand.
