That's cool. Wish there had been more info about the product.

What does it do besides making some circles? What is the purpose?

As Marv posted - this is a project on Indiegogo by a company called BullsEyeBore

They anticipate this will sell for $139 in August

I think you could make your own of this. It uses multiple lasers (cheap cat toy laser pointers are 6 for $11) and magnet(s) to hold the device to the drill chuck, and a humk of plastic (3D printable)

Also, it has a power switch. A kewler design would use a centripetal switch so it turns on when the drill chuck spins.

Also, there is this reddit post about the same thing:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking...ne_tried_this/

which is from 9 years ago - same company bullseyebore

And a Popular Mechanics article from 2015 (9 years ago) on the same company and product...

Then there is another reddit from 4 months ago:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking...based_on_this/

Though the reddit goes off on a tangent in the comments, I'm getting a big 'ol wiff of somethings not right...

This idea could be useful for tramming a mini mill.

I don't think you would like the accuracy of tramming with this type of tool.

It could certainly be used for quick coarse alignment. But - I think I could eyeball it close enough for coarse alignment that I would skip this tool for tramming.
