Long reach hammer
Some time ago I salvaged the handle of a broken golf club from my neighbours garbage can and epoxied an old 7 oz. hammer head to it. With a total length of 34" this combination makes a great long reach hammer. It has already proven to be very useful on several occasions. Not for driving nails into wood, but for instance where light correcting blows are needed in places that are just out of reach when working alone. And moreover it's a marvelous putter too! I had the 7 oz. steel hammer head laying around, but of course a head made of scrap wood is also possible.

I dig it. I don't need a long-reach hammer, but I do have a bunch of golf club shafts and a compulsion to build hammers....
