That looks way too pretty to be used as a whacking utensil.
Since the grade 8 bolt can be cut with a hacksaw, why use an angle grinder on the lathe? Wouldn't a HSS cutter do a more precise and faster job? Besides, grinding dust on lathe ways is not good.

Do you know of any HSS cutter tools I can use with a woodworking lathe? The cutting with the disk cut at the same rate off the lathe as it did with it, so why is the dust any different?Quote:

Sorry, my mistake- I didn’t notice you had chucked up the bolt in a wood turning lathe.
I do suggest you cover your ways with a cloth when grinding.
