Low tech but highly effective and only requires one man with little knowledge of knots necessary.
Leverage is your friend ( well sometimes ). They sure do load those tuk tuk things up :)
That's Cedar. Not exactly heavy. But I like the method.
A friend of mine sent me a video of Baelbek massive stones that must have been moved by mysterious beings etc. We have collectively forgotten so much basic engineering. This is but an example of how some one can do work the most efficient way.

In this man's situation it is not so much the mechanical advantage he is making use of, but height and rotational assistance Even lighter materials become increasingly difficult to load by yourself once the materials you are loading are stacked above your chest. Particularly when what is being loaded is bulky or long and unwieldly.
