Hi Red The Grey,
Welcome! :welcome:
Let's see what you've got - someone should be able to identify it…
When you're ready to share some of your own homemade tools, we'd love to see them. Please post them directly in the Homemade Tools subforum. We'll add each one to the database, as well as to your builder page on the site.
Non-tool items should be shared in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.

OK, that's something different. What is it? Some sort of sharpening jig?
Post some details and I'll add it to the database.

It has the CRAFTSMAN logo so I assume its from Sears... You can see there are 2 knurled nuts on top of a plate with grooves in it it looks like it might hold some kind of tool but its spring loaded so it really doesnt clamp down on anything...Its setup to tilt up & down and move sideways... All of this was gathered just by looking at it and that all I have to offer ... If you need more pictures please let me know...

Neat! I'm sure that someone will be able to ID it for you. I'm still going with "sharpening jig"… :D
As it's not homemade, it won't be added to the database, but we're definitely interested in seeing any tools you've built yourself.
You post 'em & we'll add 'em!

That's one tool I haven't seen before, and have no idea what it does. Some members may chime in later and identify it for us.

Hi,
Seems like it is a plane sharpening jig, to be installed in front of a grinder wheel. The horizontal motion is for sharpening the full width of the blade.
My two cents ...

OK, that's two for "sharpening jig"… :D
