How much traction would this add? If there's +20 lbs of attraction due to the magnet, but your body weight is already pressing the shoe against the roof, it's only going to be a 10-20% difference depending on the angle. Not nothing, but probably not a huge difference either.
Also props to the sales guy who faceplanted into a metal roof by walking on a metal roof with sock feet. That's commitment to the sale.
We had a guy working on our metal roof a couple of weeks ago. He let me try out his magnetic boots. nova_robotics is correct, it's only a small difference, but it is a noticeable difference. They are not designed to fasten you in place, rather to simply LESSEN the chance of you slipping. A good investment if you do that kind of work.
