    Yeah, it looks like blood. I think for demonstration purposes everyone knows it's water and therefore harmless. That would eliminate the need for pumping the contents to another tank to repair the leak. Just use it up and then fix it.

    I don't think it has to work in every situation. Carbon steel tanks are the most common, and if it provides a solution for most situations you'll encounter it probably has value. I don't think I've ever encountered a copper tank in the wild before. I've encountered a lot of fibreglass tanks, some carbon fibre, and some really weird stuff like glass-lined 316 stainless on some particularly nasty chemical plants. But never copper. Which industries use copper tanks?

    It probably won't work on tanks that operate at more than about 2 PSI either. So maybe there are only a small subset of tanks that this can be used on. Still neat though.
