    Makes me wonder if the material is already sharp on the roll, or if that machine puts the edge on it?

    That's a ground edge on those blades, and I might be wrong, but it appears as if it's already been applied from what I can see in the video. That high speed die/shear/stamping machine isn't applying that edge. So what we're seeing here is a razor sharp roll of spring loaded death flying out in random directions with no guarding to protect the workers. The only thing keeping people alive is the fact that the stamping machine is eating it as fast as it's coming off of those rollers. God help us all if that machine stops.

    My guess is the snap points have already been embossed and the ribbon is coming out of the grinder that sharpens the edge.

    All that whipping around also explains why some of them are not so sharp as it appears the ground edge is down.
