Making a compass
In this video I make a compass from two pieces of thin steel rod and some flat stock, a thumbscrew and a couple of brass pins.
The tips on the compass are regular mild steel. Not a lot to say about the project other than it's a lot of filing and shaping.
For the curved piece I went to the hardware store and traced a pattern from a store model on a piece of paper which I than transferred to steel.
Really useful and simple project.

Nice compass. Enjoyed watching how it came together, especially the fabrication of the curved wing.
