    Making Custom Washers and Spacers

I have a large collection of miscellaneous washer yet rarely the one I need. Yes, I have a lathe so can make washers. But do I really want to be diverted from the task at hand to fool with making such a minor part? A few options exist but none are safe.

The fixture presented here is a safe way to hold a wide range of roughly cut washers so the faces can be smoothed on a belt sander such that they are parallel.

Pretty slick device. I'll, sure, make use of it. Thanks, Rick.
