No way I would ever have the patience or the inclination to make something like that even if I did posses the miniaturization skill set which I do not, however I would actually consider buying one of those to take to my cousins and use it to fish in his 200 gallon aquarium I think he and I would have hours of entertainment trying to catch fish les than 1 inch long.

Looks like it would be a fast action. I have a couple of small telescoping rods and in the micro sizes you really need a slow action. You can take surprisingly big fish with them.
