Making a new handle for my classic Tiltall tripod

I have had this classic tripod since the 1970s when it was brand-new. This is the less expensive model that had plastic handles that I've never liked so I updated it with a nice knurled aluminum handle. I'm working on the other handles as well. It's much more comfortable to use and you can tighten it more firmly which is important for this tripod.

Neat job, probably ok for studio/indoor use, not sure about out in the cold though, nor having hard-knurled metal around unless well packed to stop it marking other gear when being transported. Much like the all metal razor edged knobs on certain French made gas regulators we had, horrible to use, the replacement APtech regs have much better nicely moulded plastic knobs. Perhaps ensheathing with a motorcycle grip, or cricket bat grip sleeve would help with both issues?

Actually, I find the knurled handles to be extremely comfortable for my extra large size hands. And I only ever use the tripod indoors, currently only for doing YouTube videos. So your concerns aren't really relevant to my needs. But thanks for your thoughts.
