I need one for my 1934 South Bend lathe. I could also use a step pulley rig for hanging off the back like you have on this lathe. I have a short line-shaft above, that has 2 clutches. I never added a twisted belt for reverse, and just have a V belt from the motor to the flat drive pulley on the line shaft.I put a short piece of belt on the reverse pulley to use as a brake. Interesting use of a slitting saw. I wouldn't have guessed that would mesh properly. Neat trick. I'll have to remember that one. Nice job on the build.
