You've done a terrific job, not to mention via handheld not machine tools. I've used 2 vises that were hinged; neither mine or been around others like them, though cast not fabricated.
Anyway, if you were too add a spherical seat and spacer versus flat washers on front side, the action and reliable clamping will increase, they'll self align to axis of thread.

Nice if all you are clamping is round or square or rectangular, but if you have flat stock the jaws need to be parallel don't you think.
