Philip blowing across the edge of a leaf could possibly predate what we think of as our perception of known or perceived history. The oldest known actual musical instrument found is a bone flute which is dated between 40&60,000 years old. It is my belief that someone didn't suddenly wake up one morning and say to his or herself I think I'll make a musical instrument I can blow on to make sound. When you think about it the act of banging stick together or smashing a rock against a tree trunk as a means of communicating with another hunter over distances has probably been around since the dawn of coordinated hunting. Possibly listening to the sounds, the wind makes when blowing on the leaves could spark the idea of blowing on a leaf by an individual producing unique a sound could have been used to inform a fellow hunter of their position. By varying the tone or pitch would be a way to communicate intentions and direct the others in their hunt. the same as banging sticks from sticks would come hollowed logs then drums. Leaves could have evolved into reed instruments animal horn int bugles or other wind instruments. Tight hanging vines struck or rubbed by sticks could have become violins or: lol: Gibson guitars
Never try to tell me it can't be done
