    My guess is that's because he felt he was clearly fishing and not hunting.

    (I wonder. Would you need a hunting or fishing license for this? Or, maybe its covered by one of those "Combo" licenses??)

    Why isn't fishing called hunting fish? We don't say deering, pheasanting, etc..
