I don't see how that was even possible, from both camera angles it looked like he took a direct hit

I think the tailgate, being down, took the hit and spared the guy.

He saw it coming and found himself in that tiny space where the two corners of the cars connect, if had his back turned an instant longer it would have been very sad.

If you do a stop-action presentation of this video, you can see that the lucky guy was struck and rolled by the fender of the vehicle.

He needs to buy a lottery ticket.

He may have looked unscathed in the video, but no one takes a hit like that without at least some major bruising, possibly even a fair amount of internal damage he is not aware of yet due to the heightened adrenalin in his system

I've watched this video several times and I'm absolutely amazed he was not crushed against the tailgate by the car. I can't really even say how it is possible (with the exception of divine intervention - God) considering the position of his body and where the impact of the car occurred.

It looks to me like he stepped just to the side of the tailgate as the car hit. The majority of the impact was with the tailgate and he got hit at the same time throwing him clear of the pinch point and saving his life. Also not sure "God" was anywhere near this. Fluffle-Valve, the best day to buy a lottery ticket is the worst day of the worst week of your life as the odds are your luck has to get better!

Is it just me or is he wearing a white mask and gloves? Is he a mime?
Whatever the case, the guy sure has a story to tell. From the look of it, he should be squashed flat. Amazing thing to walk away from.
