Whilst I can't say that I like the timepiece ("beauty is in the eye of the beholder", I guess) the craftsmanship is incredible. Makes one wonder how long it would take to make and the patience that goes with it.

The craftsmanship is outstanding. I can’t imagine the fine motor skills required to do this type of work. My respect to the builders! I do agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and the final product is not my cup of tea though I do respect the incredible craftsmanship.

I can't believe the size of that lathe dog!! The pantograph was also amazing to be able to translate the precision from the larger pattern needed. Me thinks the tools to make the tools to make the parts for this must have been a whole other set of challenges and artisanship! Did anyone notice the Mokume back plate, stunning! And above all working through a microscope all day for months....Wow! :hattip: to Masahiro Kikuno
