Massive diamond turning inserts - photo

I wonder what the optimal cut depth, feed rate and turning RPM would be for those bad boys? And will my 56" swing 25 HP Pencil sharpener have enough power to achieve all of the above?

Are they real manufacturing tools, or facsimile models for marketing purposes.
If real, I'd like to see video of the machine tool and chips flying off a workpiece.

I thought that was obvious when I saw the pic.

That tiny phillips screw would certainly not be enough to hold it place. At least a button or socket head cap screw. It had to be a marketing guy setting up that photo.
Yes indeed, if they are real, show us some chips.

Just fine jewelry or ornaments?

They are just giant display models of the real tips which are standing up in the tools at the front . Just for display as others have said and probably plastic to boot :-)

wouldn't make economic sense to make inserts that big, make more sense to use multiple smaller inserts to build up the longer cutting edge, as evidenced in planers, etc. if the inserts were as big as shown, there's a lot of expensive material just adding support and mass - which can be done a lot cheaper in steel.
