When casting lead I like to know the temperature of the material.
I added a thermometer to the lead pot. While the thermometer is not
in the lead directly, it is close enough to the bottom of the pot to give
me a good reading of the temp in the bottom of the pot. It is not in the
molten material but just under the iron pot and inside the outer cover.
Works great.
