Mechanical micromanipulator

Saw this on another forum. In a college summer job, I used a mechanical motion "micromanipulator" at Western Electric to scale down my hand motions while orienting gold wires and bonding them to silicon transistor chips. The work would have been impossible without the micromanipulator.

This might be an aid for older folks who are plagued by unsteady hands.

That's impressive. I was gifted an old Prior micromanipulator by a retiring prof cleaning out his lab. It's a gorgeous bit of kit that I have no idea what to do with :-)

Possibly the most ridiculously complicated and adjustable height gauge ever....
