Usually I use aluminum and brass, I'll have to polish a couple of damascus blades. I bought 5000 grit as experiment to restore a stringht razor, since I havn't the complete set of stones in order to sharp the edge.
Thank you for sharing your technique. This is FANTASTIC work! I am relieved to see that I am not the only one with this sort of obsession when it comes to refinishing wheels. I perform wheel repairs and refinishing weekly and I strive to have the finished product better than pre-damage condition regardless of whether it is painted, machined or a polished surface.Quote:

Your work far exceeds most of what I see on a regular basis. Have you applied a clear coat to the wheel to preserve your work?
No clear coat. I avoid clear coats of any kind. I just keep them polished with White Diamond. If you haven't used it pick some up. It is amazing.
