We did this with a skill saw and a sheet metal cutting blade. But I like the idea. I've seen something like this on Vevor. Much less money then when I was regularly doing roofs back 20 plus years ago.
I too was doing metal building about 20 years ago. That shear was about $1500 back then and is made for the profile of the metal that you are using. The guy siting on the metal is very important as the sheets would always tend to walk as the shear was coming down.
