When one needs or wants to have a professional looking data plate making a fixture similar to your is a great idea.
To further enhance your build you could make your top clamp holder index-able laterally to allow for locating multiple stamp lines.
Or if you make several data plates with multiple lines of unchanging data save for dates time serial numbers ETC you could make a few top clamps to contain the unchanging data and other clamps to hold the stamps that need to be changed out.
I know Capt. knows what I mean this info is targeted towards those who might have the need to make mods to his design.
